Jones had a difficult childhood because she was born to a single mother with a large family. Her mother was always changing her location and she was a resident in the basement. Jones needed to go to the same high school each year because of her nomadic background. Jones had to live away from mother in Theodore Roosevelt School in order pursue her love of track. Jones was part of different families in high school so she could be capable of focusing on her academics. Jones was a cellist with the school's orchestra as well as recipient of the Gatorade the track and field award for athlete of the Year earned her the Gatorade Iowa Athlete award at the end of high school. Jones began her athletic career in the NCAA as one of the top hurdlers. Jones won the 100-meter challenge in 2002 at the NCAA Track & Field Championship. Also, she was among the runners-up team in the 100-meter relay event. Jones was the winner of both indoor and outdoor hurdles events during the NCAA Championship in 2003. Jones has been training since 2005 when she finished her college studies. In 2005 she was winning the Torino Memorial race, in 2006 she took one of the Heusden and Ostrava athletes.
Brandt was born in Auckland New Zealand from Cape Town South Africa in the latter part of her in her adolescence. Brandt was discovered in Auckland by casting directors. She was then offered the lead role as Naevia on the Starz sensation Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. She was among the main stars of the show, working alongside Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi. Mazikeen is a DC Comics/Vertigo character that she portrayed in Netflix's hit program Lucifer. The show ran for 6 years. Forbes acknowledged Lucifer in 2021 as the show with the most number of binge watchers. Brandt is next seen in a six-episode Walking Dead limited spin-off starring Andrew Lincoln and Danai Giurira that will premiere in 2024. Lesley Brandt, along with her whole family, moved into Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. The year 1999, in Auckland Brandt began her career as a retail worker, but was later promoted to IT Management Consultant. Lesley was featured in a variety of commercials after doing a couple of modeling projects. She completed her degree in acting and continued her training in Meisner techniques of learning. Lesley Brandt landed her first important acting role in New Zealand in TV Drama Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt was a guest supporting actress on New Zealand's television show Shortland Street. Then she appeared on a science-fiction drama arrangement This Is Not My Life that was inspired by the fictional city of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt starred in the show Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia, a hostage who later appeared in the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries.
